JAN. 2008    DETAILS FOR TRAVELERS TO JORDAN

 

BY WAY OF ARAVA BORDER CROSSING (EILAT):

 

Departure from Eilat to the Arava Border Crossing accompanied by a Mazada Tours representative.

Crossing from the Israeli border side into the Jordanian border entrance

will be undertaken by the tourist himself, without the escort of a

Mazada Tours representative.

After completing all border procedures, a Jordanian tour representative

will be waiting outside of the main gate to escort the tourist throughout the tour up until his return to the border.

Return border crossing procedures, leaving Jordan and entering Israel,

will be completed by the tourist himself, without the escort of a Mazada Tours representative.

Upon completing all border crossing procedures at the Arava Border, the tourist is responsible for contacting the Mazada Tours representative who will meet and escort the tourist to Eilat.

 

 

BY WAY OF JORDAN RIVER CROSSING (SHEIK HUSSEIN BRIDGE):

 

Departure from Tel Aviv/Jerusalem to the Jordan River Crossing accompanied by a Mazada Tours representative.

Passport inspection and procedures at the Israeli and Jordanian borders will be undertaken by the tourist himself without the escort of a Mazada Tours representative.

*Please note that there is a sizeable distance between both border crossings and the tourist must board the shuttle service which is available between the Israeli and Jordanian borders over the bridge, subject to a nominal fee for each direction.

After completing Jordanian border procedures, a Jordanian tour office representative will be waiting to accompany the tourist throughout the tour up until his return to the Sheik Hussein Border Crossing (Jordan River).

Passing through the Jordanian Border (which entails payment of a departure tax), and Israeli Border, will be undertaken by the tourist himself, without the escort of a Mazada Tours representative.

Upon exiting Israeli border procedures, a Mazada Tours representative will be waiting outside of the main gate from 19:00, to escort the tourist back to Tel Aviv/Jerusalem.

 

 

IMPORTANT NOTICE:

It is the tourist's responsibility to complete Jordanian River Border procedures before 18:00.

Any tourist arriving later than 19:00 after completing all border procedures, will incur an additional fee, risk missing his arranged return transport, or take upon himself the responsibility of finding his own means of transportation at his own expense.  In other words, it is the sole responsibility of the tourist to leave Petra no later than 14:00.

Transportation:
  1. By plane to Amman Alia Airport or to Aqaba Airport
  2. By ferry to the Aqaba port from Nueiba (Sinai-Egypt)
  3. By coaches via the - Jordan River Border (Beit Shean Valley), Arava border (Eilat) or Allenby Bridge (Jericho) .
  4. There are regular buses from Amman to Baghdad (Iraq), Damascus (Syria), Mecca (Saudi Arabia).

* There is no train in Jordan.

Remarks
  • Entrance by coach via Jordan River border or Aqaba border is valid for those holding Israeli passport. Foreign passport holders receive their visa at the border, except for Allenby bridge, where a visa is required in advanced. This applies to foreigners only as Israelis are not allowed to enter by the Allenby Bridge.
  • We advise you to use the Jordan River Border as it is located close to tourist attractions and hotels in Amman.
  • Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months prior to departure. Israelis having dual citizenship must exit with their Israeli passport and can then enter Jordan with their foreign passport.
  • Israelis must have an exit permit from the IDF.
  • Crossing the border from the Israeli side to the Jordanian side or v.v. is serviced by a special shuttle for an extra charge.
  • Foreign currency in your possesion must be declared at the border as well as valuable objects such as cameras, jewelery, etc.
  • It is prohibited to bring any weapons, wireless telephones, fresh foods, plants and animals to Jordan.
  • The general customs regulations are applied at the mentioned borders.
  • Opening hours at the Arava border & Jordan River border are: Sunday- Thursday 07:00-22:00, Friday - Saturday 08:00 -20:00. Allenby Bridge: Sunday through Thursday 08:00-18:00, Friday/Saturday 08:00-13:00
  • Entry visa to Jordan with a foreign passport varies according to nationality, which is paid by the traveler at the border.
  • Exit fee from Jordan is 4JD;  the Israeli tax is $22 and  included in our service charge, which is subject to change.
 

Important:

  • It is prohibited to take photographs of any army installations in Jordan.
  • If taking photos of people, it is advised to have their personal agreement first.
  • Dress outside of the hotel should be modest.
  • It is not allowed to bring publications in Hebrew into Jordan.
  • It is forbidden to throw litter.


    GENERAL INFORMATION FOR PASSENGERS TO JORDAN

    PLEASE NOTE:
    Passengers have to be at the checkin point 30 minutes prior to departure.
    Departure time may be changed without prior notice, therefore, you have to make an early confirmation.

    BORDER FEES, VISAS, AND PROCEDURES:
    1. Opening hours at the Arava border & Jordan River border are: Sunday – Thursday: 07:00-22:00 / Friday – Saturday: 08:00-20:00
    Opening hours at Allenby bridge:
    Sunday – Thursday: 08:00-18:00 / Friday – Saturday: 08:00-13:00
    2. We advise you to use the Jordan River border as it is located close to tourist attractions and hotels in Amman.

    REMARKS:

    1. Passengers who are delayed at the border, because of invalid passport or visa, or any other procedural problems, are responsible for their own transportation from the border.
    2. There will be no refund for unused portions or confirmed itineraries, transfers and hotel accommodation after commencement of journey (i.e. departure from Israel).
    3. Any complaints regarding services in Jordan must be accompanied by official documents.
    4. All the above mentioned rates may be changed without prior notice.
    5. No health or baggage insurance is included.

    CANCELLATION FEES: Upon reservation, the amount of $25 handling fees is due.

                                      75%;  less than 4days, 100%.
